COUNCIL OKS RECREATION AGREEMENT
Pulaski Town Council voted unanimously Tuesday to approve a joint recreation agreement adopted a week ago by the Pulaski County Board of Supervisors. The last to vote on the agreement will be Dublin Town Council, where at least one member, Colbern Linkous, has said that he opposes it.
Linkous has said that the county should have its own recreation program which could serve both county and town citizens, because town residents also are citizens of the county.
All three localities have had a Recreation Commission together for a trial period dating back to mid-1990. The agreement would be renewed by the cooperating jurisdictions on an annual basis.
Council approved a motion by Andrew Graham to have the Finance and Utilities Committees meet with Acting Town Manager Rob Lyons on the town's water fund, which has drawn on reserves to pay some of its expenses.
Council wants to find out if a water rate increase is needed to support the fund.
Council adopted its revised business license categories and new business license tax rates, as advertised.
