OBIT PERKINS, CPL KENT
PERKINS, CPL Kent, 30, of Carlisle Barracks, Pa., died Saturday, April 3,
1993. He was formerly of Fredericksburg and had graduated from the
Spottsylvania High School. Mr. Perkins entered the U.S. Army for 4 years, then
completed his degree work at the Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond.
During his college years, he served in the Virginia National Guard and the
Virginia Air National Guard, then he reentered the U.S. Army. He was preceded
in death by his mother, Viola Racine Perkins. Surviving are his father,
Charles Perkins, stepmother, Luisa G. Perkins, both of Roanoke; his sister,
Jane P. Fielder, Mitchelville, Md.; two brothers and sister-in-law, John
Perkins, Hollywood, Fla., Mark and Elizabeth Perkins, Savage, Minn.; niece,
Suzanne Perkins, Lakeland, Fla.; nephew, Alexander Perkins, Savage, Minn.;
three stepbrothers, Michael Bertolacci, Roanoke, David Bertolacci,
Martinsville, and Stephen Bertolacci, Roanoke; grandmother, Gertrude Racine,
East Freetown, Mass., stepgrandmother, Louise Southern, Roanoke. Funeral
services with military honors will be held at Oakey's North Chapel 11 a.m.
Thursday with the Rev. FR. Joseph Facura officiating. Interment will be
private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Make A Wish
Foundation, c/o Virginia Credit Union League, P.O. Box 11469, Lynchburg, VA
24506. The family will receive friends at Oakey's North Chapel 7 to 9 p.m.
Wednesday.
