NO LONGER LAUGHING AT THE COMICS
WHY IN THE world would the cartoonist contaminate one of the cutest comic
strips in the Roanoke Times & World-News with a subject that has been crammed
down my throat by the media? I speak of the characterization of the guy who is
gay in "For Better Or For Worse." I strongly object! For goodness sake, leave
us something in the newspaper that can induce a chuckle and take our minds off
the very controversial subject of homosexuality. It has absolutely no place in
the comics section. ELIZABETH J. MARTIN HENRY
