JUDGE OKS TRIAL DELAY IN TRUCKER'S BEATING
The trial of three blacks accused of beating truck driver Reginald Denny during last spring's riots was delayed by three months Wednesday.Superior Court Judge John Ouderkirk postponed the trial from April 14 to July 14 after an attorney for defendant Damian Williams asked for more time to prepare.
The decision put some distance between the Denny trial and the federal Rodney King beating trial.
Williams, 20; Henry Watson, 28; and Antoine Miller, 20, are charged with attempted murder in the April 29 attack on Denny.
Defense attorney Edi Faal said he needed more time because of a long list of unfinished tasks including review of Denny's medical records.
Prosecutors didn't object.
