ROANOKE MEN OUTDUEL LYNCHBURG

At Lynchburg, the sixth-ranked Roanoke men survived a late run by 17th-ranked Lynchburg and won the ODAC lacrosse match 16-13.

Roanoke (6-1 overall, 3-0 Old Dominion Athletic Conference) jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first quarter. But Lynchburg (7-3, 2-2) cut it to 13-12 in the fourth quarter before the Maroons scored three unanswered goals to seal it.

At Hollins, Liz Florence had four goals and an assist as the 12th-ranked Roanoke women beat Hollins 16-4. Donna Galligan, Susan Brown and Sarah Brown (unrelated) added two goals each for the Maroons (4-2, 2-0 ODAC), who play at Randolph-Macon Woman's College today. Hollins is 0-5, 0-3.
