TECH TENNIS PLAYER HONORED

Virginia Tech tennis player Marcus Kramer has been selected Metro Conference student athlete of the month along with South Florida's Jennifer Bishop. Kramer, a senior from Jacksonville, Fla., won the Virginia Tech Indoor Tournament by upsetting the No. 6 player in the country. He was ranked 25th by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association and is 22-7 on the year. He has a 3.46 grade point average out of a 4.0 in veterinary science.

\ At Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Brooke Adams was ninth in both the 100 backstroke and 200 backstroke for girls and made the junior national cut in the YMCA national swimming championships. Carolyn Bucher also made the junior national cut in the 400 individual medley as she finished 10th.

The 200 boys' medley relay team of David Feldman, Matt McLeod, Ryan Marshall and Robert Sufil finished 11th while the girls' team of Shannon Goff, Bucher, Adams and Lauren Feldman was 10th.
