OBIT BYRD, MARY BONDURANT
BYRD, Mary Bondurant, 85, of 6424 Riner Rd., Riner, formerly of Figsboro, died Tuesday, April 6, 1993 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home, Blacksburg. Born in Franklin Co. May 1, 1908, the daughter of the late Grandville Thomas Bondurant and Melissa Elizabeth Barbour Bondurant. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard "L.A." Byrd. and a daughter, Mildred Grindstaff. She was a member of Mr. Carmel Baptist Church in Franklin Co. Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Edward (Daphne) Sledd, Riner; a brother, A.J. "Jack" Bondurant, Snow Creek; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 1 p.m. at McKee Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Glenn Voss and the Rev. Gary Edward officiating. The family will receive friends at McKee Funeral Home Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to Alzheimers Assoc. National Head Quarters, 919 N.
