KNOWLEDGE BRINGS POWER MINISTRIES, a Richmond-based program for spiritual growth, has scheduled a conference April 15-17 at Valley Word Ministries, 1928 Loch Haven Road.Steve and Brenda Parson of Richmond will be leaders for the event, which begins Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and continues through Saturday at 10:30 p.m.

\ A BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS SERVICE will take place Saturday at 11 a.m. at Canine Complex, 3946 Electric Road S.W.
The service, led by the Rev. Dr. Robert T. Copenhaver of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Salem, permits pet owners to offer thanks for God's creatures, as set forth by the 12th-century Christian St. Francis of Assisi.

\ ST. PAUL'S EPISCOPAL CHURCH in downtown Salem will hold three services to commemorate Easter. At 7:30 tonight Holy Eucharist will be celebrated. The church will then be prepared for Good Friday. The liturgy of the crucifixion will begin at noon.
On Saturday night at 7, the Great Vigil of Easter liturgy is scheduled. Easter services of Communion will begin at 7:30, 9 and 11 a.m.
