OBIT-JOHNSON, ELMER RICHARD SR., ("JOHNNY")

JOHNSON, Elmer Richard Sr., ("Johnny"), 71, of Salem, died Thursday, April 8, 1993. He is survived by his wife, Stella Bowles Johnson; sons, Elmer R. Johnson Jr., Danville, Larry Ray Johnson, Roanoke, and Wendell Dean Johnson, Salem, his daughter, Martha J. Aldridge, Roanoke; stepson, Charles D. Hodges, Roanoke; stepdaughters, Susie Cowan and Mitzi Tinaglia, both of Roanoke; sisters, Ilee Rollins, Falls Church, Leslie Jackson, Aldi, Va., five grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral 10 a.m. Saturday, Lotz Roanoke Chapel by Rev. R. Stuart Carlton. Burial in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Lotz Roanoke Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Salem Rescue Squad.
