OBIT-SWANSON, LILLIE SCOTT
SWANSON, Lillie Scott, 91, of Route 1, Boones Mill, died Wednesday afternoon, April 7, 1993, at her residence. She was born March 13, 1902, a daughter of the late Charlie and Lucy Lynch Scott and was preceded in death by her husband, Claude A. Swanson. Surviving are two sons, Dalton E. Swanson, Roanoke, L. Carlton Swanson of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Joyce S. and Wilson "Bill" Kinsey, Boones Mill; two foster daughters, Meriel Gelles, Silver Spring, Md., Alyce Mann, Abingdon; six grandchildren, Gerald Swanson, Sandra Sink, Cindy Perdue, Gwynn Kinsey, Wilson Kinsey II, Linda Eames; special granddaughter-in-law, Brinda D. Kinsey; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Horace (Stella) Fisher, Rocky Mount, Mrs. Ethel Dunn, Vernon Hill; one brother, Earl Scott, Boones Mill. Funeral services will be conducted at the Boones Mill Church of the Brethren, 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Robert A. Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park, Salem. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Flora Funeral Service, 342 S. Main St., Rocky Mount.
