OBIT-BOWMAN, SAM HENRY
BOWMAN, Sam Henry, 74, of 307 Maple Drive, Collinsville, died Thursday, April 8, 1993 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County. Mr. Bowman was born September 12, 1918 in Patrick County to the late William D. Bowman and Susie Coleman Bowman. He is survived by his wife, Marie M. Bowman of the home; three daughters, Wilma Flemming of Mt. Airy, North, Carolina, Amy Dodson of Martinsville, and Gina Buffkin of Alabama; three sons, Ausby Bowman and Raymond Grant Bowman, both of Madison, Tennessee, and Greg W. Bowman of Collinsville; two sisters, Alice Gammons of Pinnacle, North Carolina and Brooxie Ingle of Stuart; fourteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Collins Funeral Service with the Rev. Edwin Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends Friday night 7 to 8:30 at Collins Funeral Chapel in Bassett. Collins Funeral Services in charge of arrangements.
