OBIT-MYERS, BARBARA WHITBY

MYERS, Barbara Whitby, 50, of Durham, N.C., died Tuesday, April 6, 1993. She moved to Durham in September 1970 where she worked at the Duke Surgical Oncology Clinic. She is survived by her husband, David Myers; two daughters, Susan Myers, Tanya Myers, both of Chicago, Ill.; mother, Izma R. Whitby of Salem; two sisters and brother-in-law, Patti Whitby, Norma and Doc Roupe, all of Salem; two nephews, Tim Roupe, Scott Roupe, both of Salem. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the John M. Oakey and Son Funeral Home Chapel, Salem with Rev. Michael Palmer officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
