STUDENTS HELP RAISE ENERGY AWARENESS
As part of Energy Awareness Month, Kathryn Brennan's Archaeology-Ecology Club of Auburn Middle School held a contest for place mats with energy conservation messages.The winning entry by Rhonda Lutton and Wilma Peterman of Auburn High School has been reproduced and given to Charlie's Chinese restaurant in Christiansburg for use throughout the month.
Other activities included weaving newspaper baskets, which were given to English Meadows nursing home; preparing public service announcements for WJJJ radio; and teaching elementary pupils about energy conservation. Also, the students will participate in the Broomin' and Bloomin' project.
