VA. TECH TO CREATE INFRASTRUCTURE CENTER
Richard Weyers, a civil engineering professor at Virginia Tech, has announced that Virginia Tech will create a center for infrastructure assessment and management.Weyers will be the director. Others to be involved are Imad Al-Qadi, also a member of the civil engineering faculty; electrical engineering professors Gary Brown and Sedki Riad; and engineering science and mechanics professor Jack Duke.
The combination of expertise among the three disciplines will provide the center with the capability to effectively resolve many of the problems associated with maintaining the nation's infrastructure, said Weyers.
