OBIT LONG, WISTER EDWARD
LONG, Wister Edward, 87, of Christiansburg, died Thursday, April 8, 1993 in Montgomery Regional Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lura Margaret Hodge Long, one granddaughter, Carol Sue Hilton, and two great-granddaughters. He is survived by two daughters, Margaret Elizabeth Gray, Dorothy Jane Sarver; four sons, Edward Lee Long, Earl Clarence Long, Robert William Long, and Stanley Jackson Long, all of Christiansburg; two sisters, Cordia Mae Linkous, Lucinda Montgomery; four brothers, Ira Long, Emmett Long, Ralph Long and Hubert Long, all of Blacksburg; 19 grandchildren; and 46 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday from the Christiansburg Church of the Brethren conducted by Rev. Donald B. Peters with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call anytime Sunday at the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 7 until 9 Sunday evening.
