OBIT BOOTH, BERTA ROBERTSON

BOOTH, Berta Robertson, 79, of Route 1, Thaxton, died Saturday, April 10, 1993, in Virginia Baptist Hospital. She was born in Bedford County on May 8, 1913, a daughter of the late Frank Matthew Robertson, and Millie Frances Phillips Robertson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Griffin Thomas Booth, a son, Nathan T. Booth, three grandsons, and one great-grandson. She was a retired employee of Sam Moore Chairs, Inc. and was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Coretta B. Lawhorn, Thaxton, Marie B. Schwarz, Bedford; three brothers, Johnny Robertson, Danville, Marion Robertson, Bedford, Walter Robertson, Big Island; three sisters, Hattie Ruff, Bedford, Odell Dooley, Montvale, Nancy Frazier, Mango, Fla.; 15 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, April 12, 1993 at 2 p.m. at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Philip N. Hunsicker and Emory N. Tarpley officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family suggest those wishing to make memorials consider the Bedford Live Saving Crew or the American Lung Association. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Home, Bedford.
