OBIT COX, BESSIE GAY
COX, Bessie Gay, 97, of Willis, passed away Sunday, April 11, 1993, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cicero Cox, and a son, Brady Cox. Survivors include five daughters and sons-in-law, Hazel Scaggs and Josephine Scaggs, both of Riner, Ovada and Marvie Weeks of Floyd, Izola Moye of Tennessee, Julia and Shelly Montgomery of Christiansburg; four sons, Shelba Cox, Elba Cox, Archie Cox and Elwood Cox, all of Willis; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel in Floyd with the REv. Kenneth Poston and the Rev. Harold Cox officiating. Burial will follow in the Irenia Cox Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Monday at the Maberry Funeral Home.
