FDA PANEL APPROVES DEVICE TO EASE SURGERY
A new wiring system for cardiac defibrillators that can spare a patient open-chest surgery was endorsed Monday by a scientific advisory panel of the Food and Drug Administration.The wire leads for the device called Endotak can be implanted in the abdomen. The device is made by Cardio Pacemakers Inc., a unit of Eli Lilly & Co.
