OBIT METZGER, GEORGE BRAINARD

METZGER, George Brainard, 67, of 310 Champion Drive, Hampstead, N.C., and formerly of Roanoke, died Sunday, April 11, 1993, at his residence. He was born May 13, 1925, in Massillon, Ohio, the son of the late Clyde E. and Helen Miller Metzger. Mr. Metzger was a member of Topsail Presbyterian Church. He was a graduate Magna Cum Laude of Kent State University. He was also a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Marine Corps, and was retired from the F.B.I. He was a member of the Elks Club, the Masons, Topsail Greens Country Club and the Hampstead Post of the American Legion. Surviving are his wife, Nancy, and her four children; and six grandchildren. Memorial services will be conducted 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, 1993, in Topsail Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Wes Jennings. The family will receive friends at the home following the service on Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the Topsail Presbyterian Church.
