ROANOKE WOMEN DROP BRIDGEWATER

Liz Florence and Jen Shimrak had five goals each to lead Roanoke College to a 17-12 women's lacrosse victory over Bridgewater (4-5 overall, 3-3 ODAC). Roanoke (7-2, 5-0) won its 16th straight Old Dominion Athletic Conference regular-season game. The Maroons led 11-10 with just under seven minutes to play when Florence scored three of her goals in a 3 1/2 minute span to put Roanoke in command.

David Lefkowitz and Colin Higgins scored three goals apiece as Washington and Lee defeated Haverford 16-5 in men's lacrosse Wednesday in Baltimore. Senior Brian Murtagh had 11 saves for W&L (7-1), ranked 11th in Division III.
