CONTESTANTS SOUGHT FOR NEW RIVER PAGEANT

The 20th annual New River Valley Fair Pageant will be held May 22 at the New River Valley Fairgrounds, the week before the annual fair gets under way.

Rachael DeHaven of Pulaski will be pageant director, with assistance from Teresa Baker of Floyd.

Contestants are being sought. They must be between the ages of 16 and 22, residents of Montgomery, Pulaski, Floyd, Giles, Bland, Wythe or Carroll counties or the cities of Radford or Galax, or attend a college or university in the region.

The winner will get a $1,000 scholarship, with $500 to the first runner-up and $250 to the second runner-up. Further information is available by calling 980-4626 after 5 p.m. Entry forms must be postmarked by May 14.
