BASEBALL-HOKIES USE MARSHALL ERRORS IN 9-3 WIN
Virginia Tech capitalized on five Marshall errors for eight unearned runs in a 9-3 non-conference win over the Thundering Herd at English Field in Blacksburg.Dee Dalton and J.R. Hawkins each drove in two runs for the Hokies (21-8) and Justin Dobson went 3-for-3 with a double. Tech's Sean Hummel pitched six shutout innings in relief for the win. Jim Reynolds and Kurt Henzler had three hits each for Marshall (10-20), which led 3-1 after three innings.
