NEW NORTH CROSS HEADMASTER NAMED

G. William Stacey IV has been named headmaster of North Cross School by the school's board of trustees.

Stacey, 44, is headmaster for academic affairs at Norfolk Academy.

A Norfolk native, he has worked at the academy 19 years, during which he directed the Upper School and the school's summer program, headed the history department and coached soccer.

He is a member of the national and Virginia associations of secondary school principals. He also served as the pilot program manager in the newly-developed method of re-accrediting schools by the Southern Association of Schools and Colleges, the accrediting group to which North Cross belongs.

Stacey will succeed David R. Dougherty on July 1. Dougherty has accepted the headmaster's position at The Hill School in Pottstown, Pa.
