COST-SHARE ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE TO FARMERS
Montgomery County farmers still can request cost-share assistance to solve conservation problems. Farmers should apply at the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service office, 7 N. Franklin St.W. Terry Altizer, Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service county executive director, said funds are limited but still available.
The Agricultural Conservation Program provides money to help farmers plant trees or improve woodlands, seed or improve grass to reduce erosion, protect small streams from livestock damage, and develop livestock watering systems that boost water quality or reduce erosion.
To learn more, call the Montgomery County Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service office at 382-3961. The office is open weekdays from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
