PART-TIME INSTRUCTOR OF THE YEAR CHOSEN
The Virginia Association for Adult and Continuing Education has named Brenda Smith Bishop of Pulaski County as the 1993 Part-Time Adult Instructor of the Year.She teaches adult basic education and GED preparation classes at various locations. The classes are sponsored by New River Community College, Pulaski County public schools and Pulaski County Social Services.
Nominees are evaluated on educational and occupational accomplishments, community activities, innovative teaching and the nominee impact on students.
Bishop lives in Dublin with her husband and two daughters. She has a degree in elementary education from Radford University and has gone back there for her master's degree in adult education.
