OBIT-PAXTON, MATTIE OVERSTREET

PAXTON, Mattie Overstreet, 90, of Roanoke, died Wednesday, April 14, 1993, at a local hospital. She was the widow of Charles A. Paxton and was retired from George T. Horn and Lazarus. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Myrtle O. Carter, Roanoke; two stepdaughters, Charlotte Allen and Doris Tyler, both of Raleigh, N. C.; a stepson, Charles A. Paxton Jr., Key West, Fla.; special brother-in-law, James Sanderson, Roanoke; nephew, John W. Overstreet III, Roanoke; two nieces, Wanda Carter and Karen Bushnell, both of Roanoke; and many special friends and neighbors. A funeral service will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 17 at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel with the Rev. Carl E. Savage officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Vinton. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Oakey's Roanoke.
