HOLT, Elbest K., 89, of Callaway, died Wednesday, April 14, 1993. Mr. Holt was born July 5, 1903, a son of the late John W. Holt and Lavina Catherine Shaver Holt. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Deweese Holt and was a member of the Monte Vista Church of the Brethren. Surviving are one sister, Fannie H. Webster, Boones Mill; a very special nephew and his wife, James and Lilly Craighead, Callaway; also several nieces and nephews survive. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m Saturday, April 17, 1993, at the Monte Vista Church of the Brethren with the Rev. David K. Webster, the Rev. Frank B. Layman Jr., and the Rev. R. Gene Craighead officiating. Burial will follow in the Monte Vista Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Monte Vista Church of the Brethren Building Fund. The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Arrington-Bussey Funeral Home, Rocky Mount.
