NAMED TO PEARISBURG COUNCIL

Town Council has selected Barbara Stafford and Mose Adams to complete the unexpired terms of two council members, the town announced Friday.

Stafford is a former representative to the Virginia General Assembly and the widow of C. Jefferson Stafford.

She was picked to finish the term of Frank Winston, who is the town's new mayor.

Adams, a retiree, was selected to finish the term of Jack Davis, who is leaving the state to accept a new job.

Davis himself was appointed to the council in January to fill the unexpired term of council member John Roller, who retired.

Stafford was sworn in on Friday, and Adams on Thursday, said a town release.

Their terms end June 30, 1994.
