MARTINSVILLE YMCA KICKS OFF FUND-RAISER
The Martinsville-Henry County Family YMCA has begun a campaign called "Building for the Future" to raise nearly $1 million, according to a news release from the group's Board of Directors. If the $950,000 goal is reached, $665,000 of the funds will be used to pay off the remaining debt on the $3.6 million Martinsville YMCA, built in 1988. The other $250,000 will go toward renovating the YMCA's facility in Collinsville, and possibly adding an outdoor walking track and a day care center.
The fund-raiser will be conducted over the next two months. Work on the Collinsville facility is planned for early fall.
