THANKS TO POLICE FOR HELP WITH CLASS

I would like to express appreciation to the Christiansburg Police Department and to Detective Brumfield specifically. Each year, I run a forensics project with my advanced-placement chemistry students. A victim is "murdered" and students then analyze the evidence and solve the crime using biology, chemistry, physics and earth science. Detective Brumfield supplies us with both technical assistance and materials to solve the crime. However, his most important contribution is his advice and patience.

My students and I have always been treated with the utmost courtesy by members of the Christiansburg Police Department. This courtesy extends beyond the forensics project to sock hops, athletic events and other occasions. We are fortunate to have men and women of capability and integrity protecting our community.\ Kurt Grosshans\ Teacher\ Christiansburg High School
