AYERS-WASKEY

Susan H. Waskey and Melvin D. Ayers were married April 17, 1993 in Peters Creek Church of the Brethren by Rev. Paris E. Baine. The reception was held at the church. The maid of honor was Laura D. Waskey, daughter of the bride. The bridesmaids were Wendy L. Stewart, daughter of the groom, Donna L. Alls, sister of the bride, Tina F. Harrison, niece of the bride and Karen K. Chumbley, daughter of the groom. The flowergirl was Jessica L. Chumbley, granddaughter of the groom. The best man was Victor Stewart, son-in-law of the groom. The ushers were Randy L. Alls, nephew of the bride, Glenn Wood, Jim Marks and Alex Wimmer, friends. The ringbearer was Steven A. Waskey, son of the bride. The candlelighters were Jeff F. Harris and Robbie S. Harris, nephews of the bride. The guestbook was attended by Maggie and Heather Marks, friends. The bride wore a satin gown with sweetheart neck line, pleated puffy sleeves and Alencon lace with pearls. She carried a bouquet of white roses with purple streamers.

The bride is a daughter of Frank H. and Lydia E. Harrison of Roanoke. She is employed by Precision Fabrics Group, Inc. in Vinton. The bridegroom, son of Daniel T. Ayers, Sr. of Goodview and the late Laura C. Ayers, is a graduate of Stewartsville High School. He is employed by Precision Fabrics Group, Inc. in Vinton. The newlyweds will live in Vinton after the wedding trip to Daytona Beach, Fla.
