Mary Ann James and Matthew Lee Clarke were married April 17, 1993 in Stratford Hills United Methodist Church, Richmond, Va., with the Rev. JosephAnderson and Father Chris Haydingerofficiating. The reception was held at the Country Club of Virginia. The matron of honor was Mrs. Patti Lynn Stadlin of San Francisco, California, sister of the bride. The best man was Jim Palermo of Arlington, Va. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gene A. James of Richmond, Va., formerly of Roanoke; and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard W. Cox of Bonsack. She is a graduate of TheCollege of William and Mary, and isemployed by Mount Vernon College. The groom is the son of Mr. Michael Clarke of Toronto, Canada, and Mrs. Judy Clarke of Herndon, Va. He is a graduate of The College of William and Mary, and isemployed by First American Bank. The newlyweds will live in Herndon, Va., after the wedding trip to St. John, U.S. Virgin Island.
