Angela Fay Bowyer and DennisMichael Roberson were married April 17, 1993, at Shady Grove Baptist Church. Dr. Bill Ross performed the ceremony. The matron of honor was Donna Williams, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Cathy Bowles, Kathy Markham, Karen Pulliam, friends of the bride, and Brooke Maxey, niece of the bride. Flowergirl was Brittany Bays, niece of the bride. The best men were David Roberson, father of the groom, and Blake Roberson, son of the groom. Ushers were Eric Roberson, brother of the groom, Butch Crotty, David Snead and Mike Hamilton, friends of the groom. Ringbearer was Justin King, nephew of the bride. Assisting with the aisle cloth were Daniel King and Brad Bays, nephews of the bride. The guestbook was attended by Ellen Simmons. Wedding programs were given out by Leslie Maxey, niece of the bride. Music was provided by Pedro Tuck and Karen Bryant and soloist was Lisa Owens. The bride wore a white satin bridal gown featuring a sweetheart open neck and short bell sleeves. The fitted bodice is heavily appliqued with Venice lace highlighted with pearls and iridescents. Cascading pearls accent the bodice with a basque waistline and it features a V-back. Miniature beaded and sequined bows on cut out lace appliques highlight the cathedral train. She carried a cascading bouquet of white silk roses with ivy. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Aubrey Bowyer, of Blue Ridge. She graduated from Staunton River High School and is employed by the Roanoke Times & World-News. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. David Roberson, of Roanoke. He graduated from Cave Spring High School and is employed by Appalachian Power Co. After the wedding trip to Gatlinburg, the newlyweds will live in Roanoke.
