NEW CIVIL WAR EXHIBIT OPENS IN NEW MARKET
"Shenandoah Valley: Crossroads of the Civil War," an exhibit funded by the National Park Service, has opened in New Market.Housed in the Kurtz Cultural Center, the exhibit focuses on the 15 major battles fought in the valley, beginning with Kernstown on March 23, 1862, and ending with Cedar Creek on Oct. 12, 1864. Also available at the center is a new brochure published by the Shenandoah Valley Travel Association about the major campaigns fought in the valley.
