VMI WINS ONE GAME OF DOUBLEHEADER
VMI came up with four home runs over two games, but the Keydets only split a baseball doubleheader against Southern Conference rival Appalachian State at Patchin Field in Lexington.John Payne, Ryan Glynn and David Groseclose each hit a solo homer as VMI defeated the Mountaineers 5-1 in the lead-off game. Glynn also had an RBI triple in the sixth to score Louie Napoleon, who had reached on a double. Glynn scored on a single by Ikenberry to give the Keydets (16-21 overall, 5-11 Southern) their five runs and the win.
Glynn hit another solo homer in the second game, but it was all the offense VMI could muster. The Mountaineers won 2-1.
