OBIT HECK, JULIAN KYLE
HECK, Julian Kyle, 72, of Roanoke, died Saturday morning, April 17, 1993,
at his home. He was a member of Shenandoah Baptist Church, and was a veteran
of World War II. He retired in 1976 from the Norfolk & Western Railroad, and
was preceded in death by his daughter, Julia Heck Mallett. Surviving are his
wife, Erma Meador Heck, Roanoke; a son and daughter-in-law, Julian K. "Jay"
Jr. and Tamara Heck, Charlottesville; a daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and
William Wacenske, Simi Valley, Calif.; a son-in-law, Robert A. Mallett III,
Jonesboro, Tenn.; a brother, E. Leroy Heck Jr., Roanoke; a brother-in-law, J.
Mack Nash, Roanoke; and four grandchildren, Kyleen R. Heck, Michael K. Heck,
Eric K. Wacenske and Joshua T. Mallett. Funeral services will be conducted at
Oakey's North Chapel 11 a.m. Monday by Dr. Robert L. Alderman and the Rev.
Albin P. Crutchfield Jr. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
The family suggests memorials be made to Housecall Hospice, 4910 Valley View
Blvd., Roanoke, Va. 24012; or to the Alms Program, Shenandoah Baptist Church,
6520 Williamson Rd. N.W., Roanoke, Va. 24019. The family will receive friends
at Oakey's North Chapel from noon to 3 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
