OBIT POLLOK, EVELYN WOOD
POLLOK, Evelyn Wood, 71, of 905 Clarke Road, Martinsville, wife of Robert L. Pollok, died Thursday, April 16, 1993, at Memorial Hospital, Martinsville/Henry Co. She was born August 1, 1921, in Floyd, Va., daughter of the late William Jeff Wood and the late Hester Martin Wood. She was a retired employee of the Henry Co. School System where she taught English Literature at Drewy Mason High School. She was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church and also a member of the Martinsville Christian Women's Association. She attended school at Radford State Teachers College where she was a graduate. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Steven Robert Pollok of Cary, N.C.; one sister, Pauline Yasinski of White River Junction, Vt.; one brother, W. J. Wood of Roanoke. Funeral services will be held Monday, 11 a.m., April 19, 1993, at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, Martinsville. The Rev. John Carrier will officiate. The family will receive friends 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at McKee Funeral Chapel and other times at the home. Interment will be in Roselawn Burial Park.
