FIRST, GET FACTS ON MALCOLM X
THE OTHER day while watching the news, I saw a guy sporting an anti-Malcolm X hat. Although I'm in favor of Malcolm X, it kind of made me happy to see that people are using their right of freedom of speech to show their opinion. The only problem that I have with this fellow is that he needs to learn more about Malcolm X before he goes and wears an anti-Malcolm X hat. When interviewed, he said something to the effect of Malcolm being a hatred teacher, advocating violence, etc. I've got one thing to say: Read the book or watch the movie. The problem is that people are going around saying things of that sort when they apparently don't know what went on.
Yes, Malcolm X taught hatred at one time, but he found out that he was wrong. He corrected what he had said in the past and was then for the unity of brotherhood. That's what needs to happen to the fellow on the news. Take time to learn more about something before you go expressing a wrong opinion. BOBBY BAILEY JR. NEW CASTLE
