BIG TROUT REELED IN

Trout anglers have been catching bragging-size fish. Richard Fulp caught a 3-pound, 15-ounce brook trout on a night crawler while fishing the Roanoke River in Montgomery County.

Chelsea Willis of Catawba celebrated her third birthday by landing a 2-pound, 2-ounce brook trout at Big Pine Trout Pond in Craig County.

The Salem section of the Roanoke River has produced the following trophies: Jamie Nottingham, 5.72 pounds; Don Shaver, 6 pounds, 10 ounces; Stan Statzer, 6 pounds, 14 ounces; David Light, 5 pounds, 15 ounces. Brad Underwood used a Joe's Fly to catch a 6.7-pounder at Tinker Creek.
