RADFORD PLANS `VISION MEETING'

In the wake of its centennial, the city is looking to set up a formal organization. A "vision meeting" later this month will chart a course on how to retain Radford's history and develop its heritage.

The public meeting, April 29 at 5 p.m. in the First National Bank Conference Room, will set the agenda to establish the Radford Heritage Foundation.

Bud Jeffries of the Radford Chamber of Commerce's tourism committee said the foundation "will identify, document, preserve, and promote Radford's heritage." Organizers believe Radford's rich heritage could be developed to have "a major impact on Radford's economic development," especially through tourism.
