A pile of wood was placed Sunday behind the bus and set on fire at Jubilee Baptist Church. The Max Meadows Fire Department was called out to extinguish the blaze shortly before 6 a.m. A county Sheriff's Department dispatcher returning home from work saw the smoke and notified the firefighters.
Sunday services were held at the church, which has been sustained vandalism damage in recent weeks, including broken windows. In another vandalism incident Saturday morning, damage amounting to $1,500 was done to public bathrooms at the Shot Tower state park in the same area of the county. - Southwest bureau
