BUSINESS SCHOOL WORKERS WIN AWARDS

Members of the marketing department of National Business College won 14 awards in the Virginia Press Women's 1993 communications contest.

The winners from NBC's marketing arm - Education Systems Corporation in Salem - were left out of the list of VPW winners published in Monday's newspaper. They are:

Norma V. Lugar, vice president of marketing and publications: second for magazine feature story; second for four-color business magazine; second for color ad in an institutional or image magazine; second for single institutional or image television commercial; second for non-profit or educational public-service campaign; third for color magazine ad for retail product or service.

Connie D. Akers, art director: first place for page layout of a general or specialized publication; second and third for original graphics; third for single-sheet poster for a retail product or service; third for college catalog.

Christina M. Maccherone, staff writer/public relations liaison: second for magazine news story in a general or specialized publication; second for media news release campaign; third for single media news release.
