OBIT REEDER, ELIZABETH B. ("BETTY")

REEDER, Elizabeth B. ("Betty"), 79, of Smith Mountain Lake died Monday, April 19, 1993. She retired from the Lincoln Public School system after 35 years of teaching forensics, drama, and math. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Columbia Chapter, Lincoln, Nebraska and the Smith Mountain Lake Bridge Club. She is survived by her husband, Stanley W. Reeder; her daughters, Dr. Enid L. Burrows, Professor of Mathematics, Plymouth State College, Plymouth, N.H., and Dr. Jody D. Brown, Professor of English and Chair of the Fine Arts and Religion Division, Ferrum College, Ferrum, Va.; her son-in-law, Dr. Joseph G. Brown, Professor of Mathematics and Chair of the Mathematics and Physical Science Division, Ferrum College, Ferrum, Va.; her grandchildren, Mr. J. S. Brown and his wife, Amy, Jennifer J. Brown, Robin N. Burrows, and Lannette Elizabeth Burrows; her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Barker; her father-in-law, Mr. Harry H. Reeder; and former students and friends. She made her final contribution to teaching by designating her body for medical research. A memorial occasion will be scheduled later. The family suggests that memorial tributes be sent either to the Reeder-Mueller Scholarship, Lincoln Public Schools, 5901 O Street, Box 82889, Lincoln, Nebraska 68501 or to the Smith Mountain Lake Lions Club Scholarship Trust, Inc., 121 Windward Drive, Moneta, Va. 24121.
