VICTIM'S RIGHTS WEEK APRIL 25-MAY 1

April 25-May 1 has been designated national Victims' Rights Week. Two agencies in the New River Valley have programs to help victims of crimes.

New River Community Sentencing and the Women's Resource Center provide crime victims with information and support throughout the court process, 24-hour shelter and emergency help, assistance with all court proceedings, help obtaining compensation and restitution, and securing the return of stolen property.

They additionally provide counseling, referral to other agencies and protection from harm and threats. All services to crime victims are free of charge.
