TELECONFERENCE ON STARTING BUSINESSES

The Technology Assistance and Transfer office at New River Community College will host a teleconference from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday on "The First Five Years: Financing Business Start-up and Growth."

It will feature a panel talking about challenges facing entrepreneurs raising capital during the first five years in the life of a small business.

William E. Wetzel Jr., director of the Center for Venture Research at the University of New Hampshire, will discuss the role wealthy investors can play in financing entrepreneurs.

Allyn Woodward, executive vice president of Silicon Valley Bank, will speak on bank financing from business start-up to growth.

Peter Barris, a partner in New Enterprise Associates, will describe what entrepreneurs can expect from professional venture capital investors.

There is no registration fee. The program is open to the public. Participants can register by calling 674-3643.
