AUTHORITIES SEARCH RIVER FOR MAN

Wythe County authorities are seeking a 26-year-old man last seen along a bank of the New River near the Jackson Ferry Bridge.

Members of the county Sheriff's Department searched after getting a report that Willie Lon Rice was missing. Underwater searchers from the Lead Mines and Baywood rescue squads assisted.

Capt. Doug Cooley of the Sheriff's Department said Rice is wanted for questioning in connection with burglaries in Wythe County.
