NEW BOARD MEMBERS FOR VSU

Gov. Douglas Wilder on Thursday replaced four members of the Virginia State University Board of Visitors, saying he hoped the new directors would improve the school's battered reputation.

Wilder's move came three weeks after he met privately with the board and asked all 11 members to submit their resignations because of the university's management problems.

Wilder told state Secretary of Education James Dyke to interview the members about their vision for the school and their views of incoming VSU President Eddie N. Moore Jr.
