ROAD-REPAIR CONTRACTS AWARDED

The Commonwealth Transportation Board awarded $28,530 at its April meeting to L.J. Himes Welding of Victoria to replace a flood-damaged pedestrian bridge over Little Walker Creek in Pulaski County.

The bridge is at Virginia 601 and Virginia 643.

Also approved were repairs to the U.S. 460 bridge over New River near Glen Lyn in Giles County, 0.1 mile east of the Virginia-West Virginia state line.

Contractor for the $257,761 project is Lanford Brothers Co. of Roanoke. Repairs will include replacing the link and hinge pin assemblies on the bridge.
