ROANOKER FACES ROBBERY CHARGES

A Roanoke man was arrested Thursday, charged in connection with seven armed robberies in Roanoke, Roanoke County and Salem this month, authorities said.

Michael Anthony Kemp, 33, of the 1900 block of Patterson Avenue, was being held Friday night in the Roanoke County Jail.

County police said he was charged with robbing a SupeRx store in Oak Grove Plaza on April 15, then Brendle's at Tanglewood mall and another SupeRx on Williamson Road the next day.

Kemp also has been charged in connection with two armed robberies each in Salem and Roanoke, police said.
