OBIT BOURNE, HENRY GORDON
BOURNE, Henry Gordon, 82, of 470 East Spiller Street, Wytheville, died
Thursday evening in the Wythe County Community Hospital. He was a World War II
veteran and a Magistrate for the 27th Judicial District for 32 years before
his retirement. He was also a member of the Wytheville Presbyterian Church for
over 60 years and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He is survived
by his wife, Byrd Manuel Bourne of Wytheville; his son, Jim Bourne of Glen
Rock, N.J.; his stepmother, Frances Bourne of Wytheville; three sisters, Ethel
Sumner, Dottie Lacy and Scottie Kegley, all of Wytheville; one brother, Bennie
Bourne of Max Meadows; one grandson, Brian Bourne of Glen Rock, N.J. Funeral
services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Gillman Funeral Chapel with
interment to follow in the East End Cemetery. The family will receive friends
from 7 to 9 Saturday evening at the Gillman Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers
the family asks that donations be made to the Wytheville Presbyterian Church
Building Fund. Gillman Funeral Chapel, Wytheville, is in charge of the
arrangements.
